Ola Launches Ola Pedal Bicycle Sharing Service, Pilots In IITK Campus

Ola is a dominant contender to the ride-hailing service Uber. After launching Cab, Auto, and Motorcycles, Ola has finally launched Ola Pedal, a bicycle sharing service.  This new Pedal service pilots in IIT Kanpur campus and will soon be introduced in other cities.

Ola Pedal: Bicycle Sharing Service

This service is available on college campuses, residential areas, and tech parks. Well, booking a Pedal ride is similar to that of booking a can on the Ola app. The Pedal service will use “Aadhaar integrated solution” and customer needs to end the code that is being displayed on the app.

Well, upon finishing the ride, users can easily lock the cycle using the smart lock and doesn’t require you to leave the bike at a docking station. The company says that the Pedal service will use machine learning algorithms which will ensure bikes are available where customers need them.

The Pedal bikes are made in India and come with features such as anti-slip chain, ally frame, puncture proof tires and much like the can, users can also track their status while riding the bikes. Coming to the pricing, Ola Pedal service is free for the first 30 minutes and will be charged Rs 5 for every half an hour.
