WhatsApp Adds PiP (Picture-In-Picture) Support For Video Calls [APK]

    WhatsApp has updated its stable version of the app with a couple of new features and one among them is PiP (Picture-in-Picture) mode. It was in beta for a long time. Well, users can now enjoy PiP video calls and have text only Status messages.

    WhatsApp has added Picture-in-Picture support, text-only Status and a couple of other features to its beta channel for some final user testing and these features are deemed ready for final roll out.

    We have already discussed the text-only Status message feature, so we will just talk about PiP here. The Picture-in-Picture mode is a feature of Android Oreo that lets a video element to continue to run in a small window even if the main app is minimized.

    It’s worth noting that Picture-in-Picture mode will only work on devices running on Android 8.0 as its a feature specific to Android Oreo. With this update, WhatsApp joins the league with other apps like Duo and YouTube.
