After testing it in beta for a while, WhatsApp Text Status has finally started rolling out. This feature was first introduced by Facebook, allowing users to write their status update with a colorful background, font and emoji combination.

WhatsApp Text Status Feature
WhatsApp earlier allowed text on pictures but Text Status is different. Basically, you cannot add images and videos to the Text Status. Although you can change the background color of your text and can add links to the status.
In addition to that, you can change the font of the text and add emojis. The text-only Status feature is present under the “Status” tab, at the bottom, there are two floating buttons; one with a pencil icon for creating a Text Status, while the other with camera icon for creating a normal status.
How To Add WhatsApp Text Status?
To create WhatsApp Text Status, open the Status tab, tap the pencil icon (as mentioned) and type in your text. To change the background color, tap the color palette icon at the bottom and to change the font, tap the Text (T) icon and similarly to add a smiley tap the smiley icon, pretty simple.

Once you are done editing your Status, tap the green floating icon at the bottom right corner to add it your “Status”. Not to forget, much like WhatsApp Status, Text Status will also disappear after 24 hours.

This feature is available for version 2.17.297 and above. However, if you are using an older version, we got you covered, download the latest version from the link given below. WhatsApp is rolling out this feature to both Android and iOS.
