Xiaomi’s MIJIA Launches 1080p PTZ Home Security Camera

Xiaomi‘s crowd funding platform MIJIA ha launched a new home security pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera. This apparently extends its home security essential portfolio.

MIJIA 1080p PTZ Home Security

The MIJIA PTZ camera is an upgrade to the previously launched HD (720p) PTZ camera. Well, unlike its predecessor this camera can record in Full HD (1080p). In addition to that, it has a rectangular frame which can rotate 360 degrees, comes with a camera sensor with f/2.3 aperture, a viewing angle of 120-degrees.

Adding camera features, it can also rotate up to 93-degree vertically. It also features six 940 nanometer infra red LED emitters for night vision and has 18-step gray-scale restoration feature which develops sharper yet lit images, even in low-light or night time.

More On MIJIA Home Security Camera

The camera can be used as webcam and users can use the PiP mode in the camera’s companion app to view surveillance images. The app is available for both Android and iOS and supports WiFi and USB port.

It uses microSD card or flash drives up to 32GB for storage. This can also be connected to a cloud server or network attached storage device. It is priced at RMB 149 (roughly equals Rs 1,500 or US$22) and will be available in China markets. Xiaomi will start shipping the camera from September 15 in China. No word on India availability or price.
