WhatsApp Beta Update Reveals Picture-in-Picture Videos Calls

The Facebook-owned WhatsApp (in their new WhatsApp beta update) has now begun experimenting with video calling by adding a picture-in-picture (PiP) mode.

Picture-in-Picture Mode: WhatsApp Beta Update

The PiP feature was added in the latest WhatsApp beta was revealed by @WABetaInfo on twitter. The picture showcased a new WhatsApp Beta Android build in version 2.17.265. The picture clearly appears to be a new picture-in-picture mode while placing video calls.

Not to mention, this feature is currently only available on devices running the developer build of Android 8.0 ‘O’. The feature is enabled by default and users should be able to chat with others while a video call is in progress.

There is also a rumor hinting that WhatsApp is working on integrating YouTube into the app, which will apparently help users to play YouTube links shared in conversation and chat at the same time. Stay tuned for more.
