Android devices are hit by a new malware dubbed as Judy. According to a part from security research firm Check Point, the malware has affected over 36.5 million Android devices making it potentially the most widespread malware yet found on Google Play.

Judy Android Malware Infects Android Devices
The Android malware Judy is an auto-clicking adware found on 41 apps developed by a Korean company ENISTUDIO Corp., it is based on Command and Control server (C&C) communications and the iterations of the same has been discovered from other publishers too. The malware generates plenty of fake clicks on advertisements and generates revenue.
The apps reached over 4.5 million and 18.5 million downloads. Some of the malicious apps are residing on Google Play for several years now. It is yet to confirm how long the malicious code existed inside the apps, so, the actual spread of the malware is still unknown. Props to the research firm Check Point for discovering out and alerting Google.
Check Point Report said:
We also found several apps containing the malware, which were developed by other developers on Google Play. The connection between the two campaigns remains unclear, and it is possible that one borrowed code from the other, knowingly or unknowingly.
