Facebook Launches Facebook Spaces, It’s VR App For Oculus Rift Users!

Facebook launched Facebook Spaces, its VR app for Oculus Rift users, which apparently functions like Facebook but in a virtual world (of course). Facebook has taken one step further and teased how it would create a social experience in virtual reality.

Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality is the next big thing. Facebook knows it well. The experience from the Facebook Spaces is familiar to Facebook’s Oculus Connect. Basically, Oculus Rift owners can hang out together (up to four at once) in VR.

Users can create an avatar (pretty realistic) as you want, draw 3D objects or show off your personal videos and use 360-degree video backgrounds to live the moment in your chat. To extend the functionality, there is even a selfie stick to take virtual selfies.

In addition to that, if a friend can’t use VR, you can even bring them into the conversation using Facebook Messenger video calls. The beta is available right now in the Oculus Store. Facebook also stressed that this is just the glimpse, there is more it can do.

Facebook will enable add this to VR interaction such as playing pool or sharing music listening and so on. This is probably the first step from the social networking giant to take the platform wholly as a VR experience. Well, if everything goes well, this is not that far.
