Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus: Model Number
The number of the upcoming smartphone is based on the logic. Well, last year Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge were labeled as SM-G930 and SM-G935. So, logically the name of the upcoming flagship smartphone would be SM-G940 and SM-G945 respectively.
Though there will be a change in the numbers as, Samsung follows old customs and number their device based on the culture and coming to Asia, since the number 4 is pronounced in Chinese, it resembles ‘death’. So, we are expecting there will be a slight change in numbers.
According to some rumors, the Chinese market will have the model number as SM-G9500, while the plus model is expected to go by the number SM-G955X (X=carrier dependence). Well, the device is to unveiled in MWC 2017 and expect this smartphone ship by April of this year.
