Paytm Services Now Works Without Internet, No Data Plans Needed

After the announcement of demonetization, the mobile wallets like Paytm, Mobikwik and Freecharge have come up to rescue and of course to gain the market with the suitable situation.

You no longer need a smartphone or an internet connection to pay through Paytm. The company as just announced that it has expanded its reach to non-internet users, who still uses the basic phones.

Paytm has become one of the biggest gainers from the demonetization move and the company is continuously coming out with new features and functionality.

How Does It Work?

The company has launched a toll-free number –  1800 1800 1234 – to enable customers and merchants without internet connections to pay and receive money instantly and with this you can also recharge your mobile phones.

To use this service, firstly users (both buyers and sellers) needs to register their phone number and set a 4-digit Paytm PIN. They can then proceed further to enter recipient’s mobile number and the amount they want to transfer from their wallet.

Drawbacks…

Though it says you don’t need an internet connection or a smartphone, However, you still need a smartphone with an internet connection to setup their Paytm account to use this amazing feature.

As of now, it is not possible to get an account created through a phone call. To add money to the wallet, users still need to login into the website or the app. It is also possible to find the nearest cash-in point using Paytm nearby and top-up the account.
