Elon Musk’s ambitious Hyperloop transportation project may soon start trials in India. As Elon Musk struggles in acquiring land rights for testing the project in the United States. India has emerged out as a helping hand for him.
What Is Hyperloop and How Does It Work?
Hyperloop is essentially a futuristic train, which according to Musk is “a cross between a Concorde, a railgun and an air hockey table.” These trains travels in vacuum tube called Very High-Speed Transit (VHST) and can touch speed over 1,200 kilometers per hour.
Gadkari said;
If Hyperloop manages to materialize its commercial plans – and bring it to India — it would enable people in Mumbai to go to Nagpur in 35 minutes. The same 800 kilometers trip takes nearly 14 hours by train.
Apart from being super fast, It is also eco-friendly as it only uses air for propulsion and uses magnetic rail tracks to move.
They are really willing to make a change in this country. Actually, we are discussing a project here in India. We are on the table to do a feasibility study for a big route.
Hyperloop will change the way people travel between cities and moreover, it’s eco-friendly.
