There are a lot of high-end expectations, some like, iPhone 8 itself being a clear piece of glass, which could allow for a virtually see-through design. But in 2014, Apple has patented a design, which describes an iPhone with a see-through design. The Next Web reports;

A handheld computing device that includes an enclosure having structural walls formed from a glass material that can be radio-transparent. The enclosure can be formed from a hollow glass tube or two glass members bonded together. A laser frit bonding process may be used to hermetically seal the two glass members together to create a water resistant electronic device.

Some also claim that Apple will put up hologram just like Microsoft HoloLens does. Well, in 2017 it sounds possible but we have to wait and see how Apple puts up design, sensors (3-D sensors) and make it affordable. There are also mumbling of virtual reality, augmented reality could also make an entry though as Apple has bought Metaio, an AR company.

Besides, all the high-end expectations there are low and possible ones too. iPhone 8 is expected to come with OLED display and there will be wireless charging capabilities to power up the device. Well, Apple is also said to have partnered with Foxconn and a startup called Energous for wireless charging modules, but will it make it to iPhone 8? only time will tell.
