Early 2016, Reliance had a really great strategic plan of tying up their own mobile handset named “LYF”. Reliance started selling Jio SIM with their LYF smartphone starting with Water 1, through its chain of electronic retail outlets, Reliance Retail. Three more handset models have been released so far, namely Water 2, Earth 1, and Flame 1.

The first free offer from Jio was rolled out in May 2016. At the start of the month, Reliance Jio had 1.5 million users, which is pretty low, but as a result, accessing data (such as watching videos) is pretty fast.

From the last few days, Reliance is continuously adding other OEM’s to expand their network apart from their own handset. This is the official listing of devices supporting Jio.

Jio Effect

  • Probably after looking at the traffic plans already a lot of users from different networks has switched to Reliance Jio, which is pretty obvious. So, it was on India’s telecom giant Bharti Airtel and they slashed the prices of data for 3G and 4G mobile Internet services on Monday. The new plans named as ‘Mega Saver Pack’ will be available for users all across the country on prepaid connections. Airtel-Mega-Data-Pack.png
  • Trust me, many operators will come down under this tide as Airtel did. Expect a lot of offers from your operator to make you stay in their network. It’s on you, what you prefer??

Anyways, I hope you like the content. How excited you are about Jio?? Will you ditch your current network for Jio?? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below.
