    OnePlus 3 And 3T Will Skip Android 8.1 And Get Android P; Not Leaving Behind!

    OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T were revolutionary smartphones both for OnePlus and mid-range smartphone users. The company learned and improvised upon the mistakes from the past. These two smartphones offered a premium design, nearly stock Android, flawless performance, and capable camera. Well, both these smartphones will now receive Android P update.

    OnePlus 3 And 3T: Software Updates

    OnePlus 3 is now more than two years old smartphone, it was launched back in June of 2016 and the OnePlus 3T entered the market in November of the same year. Well, OnePlus has never fallen behind when it comes to improvising the device performance and fixing the bugs through regular software updates (except OnePlus 1, OnePlus 2, and OnePlus X). Furthermore, OnePlus 3 and 3T recently received the security patches for the month of July 2018.

    Today, the folks over at OnePlus announced that the OnePlus 3 and 3T will not be receiving an OxygenOS update that is based on Android 8.1 Oreo. That said, both the OnePlus 3 and 3T smartphones will directly get the Android P update. These updates will roll-out after the OnePlus 6, OnePlus 5, and 5T get updated to Android P.

    In an announcement the company said: “After internal discussions and evaluation, we have decided to focus our development resources on the Android P project, instead of upgrading the OnePlus 3 and 3T device to Android 8.1.” Furthermore, OnePlus says they have been working closely with Google on the Android P Beta Program.
